The Ultimate Imposter, also known as their disguises (Byakuya Togami, Ryota Mitarai, Kyosuke Munakata), is a character in the Japanese visual novel game Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair. Their true name, gender and identity are unknown, but their true identity appears to be an androgynous person with black hair and a corpulent build.

Their voiced by the same people whom his disguises were voiced by.

What Makes Them An Ensemble Dark Horse?[]

First of all, they have a significant lack of screentime. In the games, they appeared in one chapter and was briefly mentioned in the 5th and briefly appeared in the 6th. In the anime, they were mainly a background character but did play some roles but didn't have a huge plot influence.
The main reason why they became popular amongst fans is because of their caring personality. Despite their seemingly malicious title, The Imposter cares deeply for their classmates as well as Ryota Mitarai from an unknown class. In fact, they have no known corrupting qualities.
In the Danganronpa fandom, they have reached meme status due to how fans found them better than the real Byakuya Togami, who is a snobby smug snake with a polarising reception.
Some fans found them interesting and wish to get to know about them better.
