Tikal the Echidna is the overarching protagonist of Sonic Adventure. She is the daughter of Chief Pachacamac, the leader of the power-hungry Knuckles Clan.
In her youth, Tikal was a pacifistic figure during a time of war, where she would oppose her father's warmonging ways, though she was always ignored by both her father and his supporters.
What Makes Her an Ensemble Dark Horse?[]
- Tikal doesn't play much of an active role in her debut game outside of being a spirit that explains things to the player. In spite of this, she has become one of the most popular characters in the Sonic fanbase, being a common subject of fanart and fanfictions.
- Fans like her for being one of the few other important echdina characters in the series' lore outside of Knuckles. On top of that, while the game reveals that his tribe of origin was a power-hungry group that'd stop at nothing to war with neighboring tribes, Tikal was the only member of the clan that'd consistently try and stop these attempts at war.
- Omochao is generally considered a replacement scrappy of her in Sonic Adventure 2, adding onto her ensemble dark horse status.
