Yes! You were going to eat his skin, oh delightful.
~ The Lance after being reminded of the blood pact.

The Lance is a villainous character in the podcast Dungeons and Daddies.

What Makes Him an Ensemble Dark Horse?[]

  • Although he only appeared in two episodes, technically three, he was liked by the fanbase for being a funny yet serious villain with a relatable motivation.
  • Many sympathized with him since it's implied his dog One died, and his anger at Grant for losing Lincoln was understood.
  • While he does horrible things like enslaving people, it was intentional to hate him for that and the fans like him for other reasons, such as his comedic moments like when he retreated during the final battle and encouraged his soldiers to become simple farm folk.
  • It's because of him that episodes 17 to 19 were considered very tense, since the blood pact caused Darryl to become uneasy since he knew he'd die if he didn't eat Grant's skin and kill him. Those episodes were quite liked and although The Lance didn't appear in them, he influenced the plot and the writing of the series was praised because those three episodes gave some payoff to the first episode.
  • Despite how important he was for a two episode character, the fans wished for more of him, and thought that his role in the final battle could have been increased.
