Bad news, Link. It looks like I got hit pretty good back there... I think... I think I need to get back to the Flight Range. I just hope that... I can make it back. You head down to Medoh. Good luck! It's all you!
~ Teba

Teba is one of the supporting characters in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. He is the top Rito warrior of his generation, the husband of Saki, and the father of Tulin. He plays a major role in his debut appearance and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity and is a minor character in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

What Makes Him an Ensemble Dark Horse?[]

  • Teba's character design is very cool and unique and in the Creating a Champion's description, he was originally going to be brown as he was based on a hawk but was changed to white to make him stand out from the rest of the Rito villagers.
  • He is noted to be the only The Legend of Zelda character in the entire series to use a swear word, which occurs in a clever blink-and-you-miss-it moment which the player must complete the battle against Divine Beast Vah Medoh, but must leave before defeating Windblight Ganon and head to the Flight Range where he is in pain, and most players will potentially miss this moment since they tend to focus mostly on completing Vah Medoh anyway.
  • While he wasn't outright despised at any point, he was considered to be the most overlooked character in the game due to being overshadowed by Kass in Rito related activities, and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity helped him get his chance to shine and his fans love his moveset, especially when they get upgraded to stronger versions and help deal with crowd control.
  • Despite being taken aback by Revali's abrasive behavior towards Link after rescuing him, Teba at least does still hold much respect towards him, and he is unwilling to hold anything against him just for seeing him being a jerk for only a moment. Regardless, his chemistry with Revali is excellent and protects him from Windblight Ganon and helps keep an eye out for enemies targeting him.
    • In the Searching Hyrule Forest scenario, Teba joins Revali to find the missing Rito child which turns out to be Tulin and the dialogue between the trio is genuinely heartwarming and from Teba's side, he got to see that Revali is indeed a much kinder person than he looks on and he can be seen smiling and laughing, which is pretty rare for a rather stoic warrior like him.
  • Even when he can be a bit reckless at times when it comes to crises, it's hard to not feel sympathy for Teba when he went against Kaneli's orders to stay away from Vah Medoh when he really wanted his people to thrive peacefully and not live in fear for their lives, and when he became the Rito Elder in Tears of the Kingdom, he feels restrained by his new role when he wanted to help stop the blizzard and has to contend with his headstrong son who insists on going it alone rather than accept help from others.
  • While Tulin taking his place as a major supporting character was not an issue with his fans, they were not happy to see that Teba, who played an important role in Breath of the Wild and Age of Calamity, suddenly got next to no role in Tears of the Kingdom which they find very jarring.
