~ Susie showing hesitance to killing the janitor, before being forced to stab him by Frank and Julie |
Susie Lavoie is one of the one of the playable killers in Dead by Daylight, serving as a member of The Legion.
She is voiced by Emilie Deschamps.
What Makes Her an Ensemble Dark Horse?[]
- Her design, including her dyed hair, makes her appear rather cute, which fits her nature as the shy and naïve member of The Legion. The fact that cosmetics hint at her being a Sophomore student prior to her and the others being taken by the Entity also imply her to be the youngest member of The Legion.
- Various lore details from the cosmetics, Tomes and the tie-in comic hint at Susie being a troubled girl that faced bullying from other students (such as a cheerleader as revealed in the "Stolen Cheer" cosmetic), along with her father also implied to have been physically abusive to her (as shown in a dream sequence during the fourth issue of the tie-in comic). These factors made her rather sympathetic to many players.
- This is further supported by her reluctance to kill the janitor until physically forced to by Frank taking her hands and forcing the blade into the janitor (as mentioned in The Legion's backstory and shown in the fourth issue of the tie-in comic), showing her to be someone corrupted by Frank into evil.
- Additionally, Frank mentions in the third issue that Susie kept picking "weak outings" during their nights out as The Legion, implying that she was hesitant to cause any real chaos.
- She is shown to have a knack for drawing in the tie-in comic, with Jeff even complimenting her drawings in the fourth issue.
- The fourth issue of the tie-in comic also reveals Susie to be Queer (though it's left ambiguous as to if she's a Lesbian or Bisexual) due to her kissing Julie in a dream sequence, despite Julie having feelings for Frank. This makes her one of the few canonically confirmed LGBTQ characters in Dead by Daylight.
