Super Duper are supporting characters in the controversial 2006 comic The Boys, They are a well-meaning but naive team of young superheroes based in New Jersey.
Unlike the other brutal and violent heroes under Vought-American, Super Duper mostly consists of low-powered and mentally disabled teens, who all try their best at being heroes.
What Makes Them Ensemble Dark Horses?[]
- While they don’t appear much in the main story, many fans still regard their story arc as one of the best arcs in the comic.
- Unlike most Supes in The Boys, Superduper are genuinely heroic characters, who despite having weak and dysfunctional powers, are all trying their best to bring good to the world. Fans love them as one of the few truly good superheros, in a world filled with selfish, and vile Supes (e.g: Homelander).
- Their innocence and camaraderie greatly contrasts with how grim the comic is, with scenes like their clumsy attempts at heroism, throwing a welcome party for their leader Malchemical, and rescuing a cat from a tree. This has made them endearing to fans.
- Many fans liked how they were surprisingly one of the only Supes to be spared by Butcher and were glad that Billy didn’t go through with killing them.
- Despite their brief role in the comics, fans love Superduper so much that they would like for them to appear in The Boys TV series.
