What Makes Him an Ensemble Dark Horse?[]
- Despite only being a secondary antagonist in Seasons 7 and 8, many fans of The Walking Dead found Simon to be much more threatening than Negan due to Steven Ogg's charismatic portrayal.
- Many have also found how Ogg based Simon on Trevor Phillips (one of his most iconic roles) from Grand Theft Auto V as a reference to be a very clever choice.
- He is filled to the brim with evil is cool moments that allow him to have a strange charm to him.
- Simon ordering his men to kill the Scavengers, as horrific as it is, didn't hurt his popularity because of how unpopular the Scavengers were in the eyes of the audience.
- He has plenty of comedic moments that let him be evil, while still entertaining.
