Sif, the Great Grey Wolf, is one of the supporting antagonists in Dark Souls. Sir is a loyal companion of the late Wolf Knight Artorias. Sif can be found guarding his master's tomb in Darkroot Garden.

What Makes Sif an Ensemble Dark Horse?[]

  • Is known for being a tragic animal companion with three words to sum the wolf's story: Hachiko on steroids.
  • Is an example of boss character that players don't want to fight but they have to, since Sif is a mandatory boss. If you completed the DLC, Sif would recognize you one last time before reluctantly have to keep his oath to guard Artorias's tomb from Abyss forces. The boss fight itself is also considered enjoyable yet saddening.
  • In Artorias of the Abyss DLC, Sir is one of the summonable characters for Manus's boss fight if the chosen undead saved the wolf in the chasm of the abyss.
    • The player is also rewarded a different cutscene after completing the DLC before proceeding to Artorias's grave.
  • Overall Sif caught the fans' attention for being a tragic wolf, pleasing many dog lovers and simultaneously saddening them. The fans still miss Sif, calling them a "good dog" or similar phrases.
