Robert Kendo is a minor character in the 2019 remake of Resident Evil 2 and the 2020 remake of Resident Evil 3, as well as the protagonist of the non-canon side scenario The Ghost Survivors: No Time To Mourn.
He was voiced in English by the late Ken Lally, and in Japanese by Hideki Tanaka.
What Makes Him an Ensemble Dark Horse?[]
- While Robert Kendo is one of the last characters the fans would grow to love, due to how difficult it was for him to be taken seriously in the original game, many of them were pleasantly surprised by Capcom changing his personality into a sympathetic father who's only trying to survive and to protect his family.
- Despite only appearing in one scene in the remake, the scene where he confronts Leon and Ada in his gun shop is genuinely heartbreaking as Kendo berates the Raccoon City Police Department for failing to protect him and his family as he comes to the realization that he can't do anything to save his daughter.
- Before the Resident Evil 3 Remake was announced, many of the fans hoped that Kendo would manage to escape from Raccoon City, due to him being able to in one of the game's non-canon story modes.
