~ Rawk Hawk |
Rawk Hawk is one of the minor antagonists in Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. He is the second crowned Champion of the Glitz Pit with the first one being Prince Mush, Jolene's younger brother.
What Makes Him an Ensemble Dark Horse?[]
- Rawk Hawk is well remembered for his large ham tendencies and his massive ego he displays throughout the game. Not only that, but through all of his bragging, he can easily back it up with his claims. The Champion's belt that he holds up that contains a replica of the Gold Crystal Star which led Mario and his partners into joining the Glitz Pit as fighters.
- He does show that he does care for his in-universe fans that surround him and when Mario hammers all of them out, he understandably gets mad at him for his actions.
- His interaction with Mario and the Yoshi Kid after they have just entered the major league is hilarious and him getting into an argument with the young Yoshi.
- His passive-aggressive made for a good build up once Mario makes it into the major league and he taunts him along the way and various strange events, such as the poisoned cake, having security lock Mario and his partners in the abandoned locker room to make Grubba forfeit the match on them, and Mario receiving threatening e-mails, have him as one of the suspects behind it. He was guilty of the first two, but he had nothing to do with the threatening e-mails (which are really from Grubba).
- His mid-boss fight against him is very memorable due to the aforementioned build-up, and the fact that his fight is challenging, but fair and the best part being his boss fight's rock music that plays, and it really helps that he can be fought multiple times, since the player can make a comeback and move up the ranks after Chapter 3.
- He does have a decent character development after his defeat and grew to respect Mario more and resolves not to play dirty anymore and earn the Champion's Belt fairly and he does end up making a comeback better than ever. It really shows through when he cheers for Mario, who is fighting the Shadow Queen, reminding him that anyone who has beaten him isn't allowed to lose, which is very mature of him, and he knows what is happening.
