Why Do People Love The Character?	Fanbase adores her being a badass normal NPC who could fight back, being a guest star party member, and she also one of the few NPCs who received a Vision. Many fanbase misses her so much because she wasn't an open-world NPC.

You gave me a flower as a gift, and you taught me so many things, so many secrets of the forest. Like how Starshrooms are the reflection of stars in the sky. Like how seeing the Nilotpala Lotus bloom...	„

Rana is a deuteragonist & supporting character in the open world role-playing video game Genshin Impact. She is one of the Forest Watchers, higher-ranking personnel of Forest Rangers. She is also a friend of Arana, an Aranara when she was a child.

What Makes Her Ensemble Dark Horse?

• Being one of the Forest Watchers, a higher-ranked member of the Forest Rangers, Rana is armed with an ax with the movesets of Treasure Hoarder Boss & Eremite Axe Vanguard. And she is the first ever NPC who fight alongside with you, with a damage sponge hitpoints.
  • According to her, the earliest Forest Rangers were King Viaghara and Princess Cinnamon's Royal Guards. Fittingly, she is the children's royal guard to protect them from the Withering Zones.
• While being a nature heroine, she is also a friend towards any children in Sumeru. This also proves that she risks her life to save a child, Iotham from the Withering Zone because Iotham was running away from the Fatui. 
  • It also revealed that she entrusts three guys, Bahram, a Sumeru merchant, Aurelius, a hunter from Mondstadt, and the last one was named Alphonso from Fontaine, to keep the children safe. In which one of them, Alphonso was revealed to be Trofin Snezhevich, a Fatui Agent tasked for carrying Il Dottore's mission to capture Aranara by using the local children as a bait. Hence why Iotham was running away from them into the deepest part of the Forest and caught in the WIthering Zone.
  • After saving Iotham from the Withering Zone and The Fatui, Rana is starting to degrade and rendered unconscious after the effects of The Withering. She ended up being saved by an Aranara named Arana, in which kickstarts the lenghty journey of Aranyaka World Quest with Arama taking over the Rana's role being a Deuteragonist of another story.
• At the end of Aranyaka World Quest, she receives a Dendro Vision. She bids farewell to The Traveler & Paimon departing to her Forest Watcher adventure and seeing Arana, her Aranara friend again in a long reunion. Fanbase missed the action nature heroine so much. 
• Because of being a guest star party member in Aranyaka World Quest, Rana gets a good impression from the fanbase for fighting back against a lot of Fungi and Spinocrocodiles, and even risks her life to save Iotham from the Fatui and the Withering Zone. It also leads to the Mondstadt NPCs, Allan and Reckless Pallad getting ridiculed in comparison. 

Trivia

• So far, Rana is the first NPC to get the vision onscreen.
