Ralph is the major supporting character who first appears in The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages. He is the best friend of Nayru and the rival of Link.
What Makes Him an Ensemble Dark Horse?[]
- Ralph is considered to be a muchly appreciated comic relief, who contributes to the game's funnier moments whenever he appears during Link's adventure.
- He also provides a much more interesting context in the story, and it was through his family line, with Queen Ambi being his ancestor, which itself makes him an interesting character.
- He is one of the few characters who has a strong friendship with an oracle, in his case, Nayru and he is fiercely loyal to her and when Veran possesses her to convolute Labrynna's history, Ralph goes all out to try and save her.
- The fact that Oracle of Seasons doesn't have any equivalent to Ralph also helps with his popularity, considering he is the main reason why the story of Ages is more interesting than Seasons.
- He is even funnier as a character in the Oracle of Ages manga which he has his bickering with Link while going through some character development to a mature person while keeping some of his humorous moments intact.
