~ Phantom, Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope "Rayman in the Phantom Show DLC |
The Phantom of the Bwahpera, also known as simply Phantom or Tom Phan, is a minor antagonist in the 2017 strategy action crossover game Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, and the titular main antagonist in its sequel’s DLC, Rayman and the Phantom’s Show.
What Makes Him an Ensemble Dark Horse?[]
- While the Rabbids in general are base breaking characters for either being hilarious or annoying to some fans, Phantom of the Bwahpera along with a few other Rabbids have managed to stand out as being one of the more well liked Rabbids in the entire series for standing out in different ways. Even if he was base breaking himself like the others given that in previous Rabbid series games where it was impossible which one was him, he made a full exit from it and quickly became beloved by fans.
- Out of all the bosses, Phantom of the Bwahpera is one of the most popular characters in the Mario + Rabbids series for his amazing singing skills and has a pretty good boss battle with him being intangible as long as the spotlights are focused on him and destroying the generators that power them make him vulnerable.
- Fans have called the Phantom the "Great Mighty Boo" due to his many similarities with the Great Mighty Poo from Conker's Bad Fur Day and Conker: Live and Reloaded, due to each of them being bosses who sing opera with them delivering hilariously insulting lyrics to the main protagonists in between the phases, and has resulted them in comparing the two separate characters in the best way possible, with some of the differences with the Phantom being significantly less vulgar, (which is fitting, since the target audience in the Mario series and Rabbid series is family orientated anyway) and uses his singing abilities to attack Mario and his allies.
- He has garnered so much popularity that his return as the main antagonist in the Sparks of Hope DLC has numerous fans overjoyed to see him again and his singing skills as well as his degrading lyrics to the protagonists being just as good, if not better, as the one in his previous appearance.
