O.B. Jackson, is a supporting character in the western dark comedy film, The Hateful Eight, made by famous director, Quentin Tarantino. He is a friendly, amiable, and charismatic stagecoach driver, who regularly transports and witnesses the deeds of evil outlaws.
He was portrayed by James Parks.
Why is he an Ensemble Dark Horse[]
- Despite being the least developed/least important character in the plot out of the main cast, he is still the most likable out of the group, with multiple fans of the film having him as their favorite character.
- The main reason he is so loved by fans is because of the fact that he’s the only major character who isn’t a total bastard and actually seems like a humane and decent person, in a world full of brutal and racist murderers.
- Fans enjoy the fact that he is the only character who doesn't disrespect Major Marquis Warren, or use xenophobia against him, unlike the other main characters.
- He has an amazing design with a very complex wardrobe.
- He has a great relationship with John Ruth, with O.B not letting Warren inside the stagecoach without John’s approval, and O.B being the only person John “kinda sort of trusts.”
- Fans were distraught at his brutal and underserving death, which followed the theme of Tarantino killing the nicest characters in the most brutal ways.
