Monodam is a supporting antagonist in the Japanese visual novel game, Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony. He is one of the Monokuma Kubs. In the orginal Japanese version, he is voiced by Koichi Yamadera. In the English dub, he is voiced by Jason Wishnov.

What Makes Him An Ensemble Dark Horse?[]

To get the elephant out of the room, Monodam unexpectedly ended up being well-liked by the Danganronpa fanbase due to being largely different from his notorious siblings.
- First, he is a laconic character with a dark vibe. Also, he uses his screentime modestly, unlike his siblings who are simply screen hogs.
- He is shown to be an amicable character with good intentions. Rather than assisting his father in hosting the Killing School Semester, his main goal is to get the Monokuma Kubs and the students of the Ultimate Academy for Gifted Juveniles to get along.
- Fans were happy about him killing both Monokid and Monosuke, which was in fact well deserved since they were bullying him for benig different.
In the English dub, he has a pretty interesting speaking quirk (Speaking in monotone in all caps and hyphens in between every word) and a neat voice which suits his robotic motif.
He only had focus on in two chapters. In the first chapter, he was completely silent and in the sixth, he played a very minor role in the class trial.
Him taking over the killing game for majority of the third chapter provided a welcome change to the status quo, with many fans also enjoying how he replaced Monokuma in the now Monodam Theater segment.
- Furthermore, although it remains unknown if it'd be possible to achieve or not, the motive during his time as the host of the killing game is bringing one of the deceased students back.
Despite being a laconic, plot-useless character who is despised in-universe, he unexpectedly ended up getting a positive reception.
On meta perspective, he gives the biggest bonuses in Casino games, which you'll need to get achievements for scoring S-rank in said games.
- He also gives you the most Monocoins during Love Across the Universe. While Monophanie usually gives the most (100 Monocoins), one day Monodam will give you 300 Monocoins in secret from Monokuma.
