“ | Once this whole thing is over... maybe things can go back to how they used to be when we were young. You know... Perhaps we could spend some time together. | „ |
~ Mipha |
“ | Right. Sidon it's an honor to fight beside you. I'm proud of the Zora you've become. Remember that. | „ |
~ Mipha |
Mipha is one of the supporting characters who first appeared in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and has returned in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.
She is voiced by Mayu Isshiki in the Japanese version, and by Amelia Gotham in the English version.
What Makes Her an Ensemble Dark Horse[]
- Mipha's personality is that of a loving and sensitive soul who is insightful and tries to put herself in her friends' situation to try to be helpful.
- Her fans find her design to be cute and attractive at the same time and it matches her demure and introverted nature.
- Out of all the Champions, Mipha is considered to be the most tragic out of them all, barring Princess Zelda; she has fallen in love with Link, who is the Hylian protagonist, and she made the Zora Armor, as Zora princesses traditionally do, for him in order to ask his hand in marriage, but she has never gone through with it and she would end up dying before she had the chance to.
- Her relationship with Link, despite the fact that their races age at different rates, is shown to be genuine and heartwarming, (it helps that it also feels realistic with a proper build-up, as shown in her diary) and given that Link won't make it all the way through to the Zora's end of their lifespan, even if she did survive Calamity Ganon's attack, makes her relationship more tragic. Given that she knows of Muzu's prejudice against Hylians, he is the only person whom she reasonably doesn't talk about her crush to. In both of her father had permitted her to become the Zora Champion, on the circumstances that she returns home safely makes things more harrowing for her.
- Her death has a significant impact on her people and when they tried to send her Lightscale Trident adrift, Mipha speaks through it and tells them to remember joy and focus on keeping her memory alive, which shows that she truly cares for her people and doesn't want them in low spirits because of her death. It also led to the senior Zoras wrongfully blaming the Hylians, Link especially, for her death when it was obviously Calamity Ganon's fault. King Dorephan regrets putting her on the frontlines and Sidon is also noted to be affected by her death, which has him regularly visiting her statue, and getting to the point of becoming too protective of his fiancée, Yona in Tears of the Kingdom.
- Fans have noted just how awesome of a fighter Mipha is in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity because of her mobility and being simple to play as.
- Her power, Mipha's Grace, is very helpful in not only gaining a full revival upon the life gauge being completely depleted, but she also grants extra temporary bonus hearts as well which goes to the full extent of her compassion.
- She is a very good sister to Sidon as shown when she protects him from a Lynel, and she tells him that he should never wander off while commending his courage. Additionally, she is also protective of her father whom she saves from an electric Moblin, especially awesome considering that electricity is extremely dangerous for her kind.
- Her chemistry with Sidon is excellent and their relationship very bittersweet both in Breath of the Wild and Age of Calamity, and the two of them prove to be a great team.
Trivia[]
- Adding to her EDH status, Mipha is the least targeted character in shipping wars and seldom treated like an antagonist. In addition, she is a popular character used in shipping, both platonically and romantically, and she has been shipped with Link the most due to their how wholesome it was. Even then, she has been shipped with other characters such as Revali, Princess Zelda, etc.
