Neil Dylandy, better known as Lockon Stratos, was a deutragonist of Mobile Suit Gundam 00.
In season 1, he was a leader of Gundam Meister of Celetial Being. Being most mature member, Lockon not only act as their field leader in battle, but a mentor and brother-figure for Setsuna F. Seiei. After the death of his family, Lockon determined to change the world into better and make sure his younger twin brother, Lyle Dylandy, can have a better life.
He was voiced by Shin'ichiro Miki in Japanese version and Alex Zahara in English Version.
What Makes Him an Ensemble Dark Horse?[]
- He is handsome and has very nice style. Which is perfectly fit for his laid-back character.
- Lockon known to be friendly, laid-back and mature individual. While can be blind by anger, he always remain with his positive attitude.
- He also act as Setsuna F.Seiei brother figure. Which make him one of Setsuna's closest comrade. After his death, Setsuna determine to continue his dream to change the world and take over his position as leader of Gundam Meister.
- His friendliness also helped to defrost Tieria's icy attitude, accepting his own flaw, and become more open and friendlier than before. This also have some implication that Tieria has one-side crush toward Lockon. Because of this, His relationship with Tieria is very popular and iconic among the fans, even more popular than canon ship of series.
- He is skilled in long-range battle both as Gundam Pilot and sniper. Making him one of formidable opponent in Celetial Being.
Trivia[]
- Despite his status as Ensemble Dark Horse, his brother (Lyle Dylandy), who become his successor as Lockon Stratos, ironically ended become Base-Breaking Character among the fans.
- Both he and Lyle share same Japanese and English voice actors.
