Leon Powalski is a major character in the Star Fox franchise. He is a member of the rival mercenary squadron Star Wolf, and is second to Wolf O'Donnell in piloting. Unlike previous Star Wolf members, he has remained in the team for as long as Wolf. He is also the arch rival of Falco Lombardi.

What Makes Him an Ensemble Dark Horse?

• Leon is popular with the Star Fox fandom, despite simply being Wolf's second in-command and he has been seen in a ton of fanart across social media.
• He is an excellent foil to Falco, another popular character who is also the next in line to Fox, and they are somewhat less moral than their leaders are.
• Out of all of the Star Wolf team members, Leon is the only consistent teammate in the group of mercenaries to stay as a member of Star Wolf whereas the other members, Pigma and Andrew are both kicked out, the former for his greed and untrustworthy nature and the latter for his incompetence and constantly bragging to no end.
