| ~ Layer's Introduction in Mega Man X8 |
Layer is a supporting deutragonist debuting in Mega Man X8 (Rockman X8 in Japanese). She, and Pallette, were one of the two new navigators working along with Alia as the navigators for X, Zero, and Axl, as well as being secret playable characters.
She is voiced by Meredith Taylor-Parry in the English dub and Sonoko Kawata in the Japanese version.
What Makes Her an Ensemble Dark Horse?[]
- Her interactions with Zero is being a hopeless suitor to him when tried to tease him, possibly because of Zero no longer interested in pursuing romances after Iris' death. This is an example of a hilarious moment came from a Mega Man game known for the Superlative English Dubbing.
- Layer's design was meant to be a heroic seductress in contrast to Zero's previous Lover, Iris' proper lady design. Also not to mention she has... B-Battle capabilities.
- All of the three navigators were unlockable secret playable characters, with Layer having the moveset of Mega Man Zero, testing her capability as a graceful action lady.
- Her Mission Control capability is scanning enemy maverick's weakness.
- Mega Man X Dive / Rockman X Dive has her wedding dress and swimsuit gacha unit. In gameplay, she has a decent moveset.
