Jessica "Jess" Riley is one of eight main protagonists in the 2015 horror game, Until Dawn.

What Makes Her an Ensemble Dark Horse?[]

Despite her lack of appearances in the game's main narrative from Chapter 4 until the Chapter 10 (depending on player choice), Jess is so popular with the fandom that many people are disappointed that she's relegated to the sidelines for most of the plot.
Because Until Dawn is a game that depends on player choice, if Mike fails to impress Jessica in chapters 2 and 3 or only moderately impress her, they are treated to a scene where Jess opens up about her insecurities. Many people in the fandom believe this scene actually helps flesh out Jess's character a bit more and portrays her as more of a sympathetic person.
The scene where she tells off the Wendigos is viewed by many fans to be genuinely funny.
In chapter 10, the scene where she and (depending on player choice) Matt are attempting to escape the mines from the Wendigos is nerve racking and with the player doing whatever they can to ensure both of their survival.
