~ Jeht before attacking Matriarch Babel, Her Foes Rage Like Great Waters... |
Jeht Ufairah Hindi is a major character in the video game Genshin Impact. She was originally a minor character in Golden Slumber world quest along with her father, Jebrael, as Tirzad's escorters. After the death of Jebrael, she, along with her primal construct companion, Benben departed into the Tanit Camp and being adopted as Babel Tanit's adoptive daughter. While Jeht manages to bring her parent's belongings to the Eternal Oasis to make them rest in peace, Babel and her tribe has sinister intentions of using her.
Jeht reuses the audio of Eremite Desert-Clearwater, who is voiced by Chloe Eves in English dub and Yuuki Urushiyama in Japanese Dub.
What Makes Her an Ensemble Dark Horse?[]
- Based on the initial reception of the Eremites, fanbase adored the three with non-standard character models because of how attractive they are, particularly Eremite Daythunder, Desert Clearwater, and Sunfrost respectively. As a response in version 3.1, the gamedevs introduces 2 non-hostile Eremite NPCs with unique model, Jeht and Jebrael in Golden Slumber world quest, in addition of the introduction of two new elite Eremite variants, Gale Hunter and Stone Enchanter.
- In Golden Slumber world quest series, Jeht is originally a cheerful girl along with Jebrael, her not-so talkative father. Her father's death serves as a catalyst to be a mature person and sets her adventure to fulfill her father's wish. Fans were surprised in Dirge of Bilqis world quest that she became a protagonist.
- From the Dirge of Bilqis onwards, Jeht has become a mature person. However, in her time as a Tanit tribe member, The Dirge of Bilqis became progressively darker. Jeht ends up committing murder under Matriarch Babel's orders & manipulations.
- The ending of the Golden Slumber world quest series stated that Jeht crying anguishly and calling Jebrael out being a liar. The truth is uncovered as the foreshadowing of Matriarch Babel's true nature as Jebrael, along with his comrade Samail, were once were the navigators of the Tanit Tribe that were betrayed by the Matriarch herself. Jebrael had to prioritize his daughter's safety along with Tirzad, his nephew from Samail. Jeht was genuinely naive before Babel had turned her into an assassin she is today.
- While Liloupar has an excellent judgement about Matriarch Babel Tanit being a manipulative surrogate mother despite she had orchestrated murder in the family and causes the downfall of Gurabad, Jeht would cover her ears and felt uncomfortable about hearing the whispers of Liloupar, even if Liloupar was speaking the truth.
- With the help of The Traveler, Jeht's killing of Matriarch Babel is viewed by catharsis factor for being a hypocritical power-hungry schemer for sending Jeht to be killed per Babel's orders.
- One wonders what happened when poor Jeht was adopted by Babel Tanit. The names of the crumpled-namelist indicates the past elders (Excluding Masseira who survives) that were assassinated targets. Babel raises her to be a killer for her own needs and would discard her if she succeeded finding the Eternal Oasis by orchestrating the assassination of Jeht. In which, the assassinations of the previous Tanit Elders, orchestrated by Babel and executed by Jeht herself is nothing more than Babel's excuse to gain control over power.
- Jeht ends up being anti-heroine after Matriarch's Babel manipulations and killing the entire Tanit Tribe, except Masseira. However, most of the Tanit Tribe, including Babel were egotistical hypocrites who were willing to betray anyone whoever putting trust to them by made out to be a traitor to be killed, while Masseira left his own daughter to die so he can escape Babel's trickery. Let's just say most of the Tanit Tribe got what they deserve, including even the affable Yuften, Babel's accomplice who fed spinocrocodiles with the meat of the "traitors".
- She prioritizes forming with unaffiliated Eremite members in spite of being black marked by Babel and escorting the scholars of the Order of Skeptics to safety into Dharma Forest, abandoning her quest of avenging Tadhla by killing Masseira.
- Considering Masseira was still in the desert in Girdle of the Sands, his life would not last longer.
- Jeht ended up featured in 2024 Valentines Day card, which usually placed for playable characters such as Navia Caspar, and Lynette.

Trivia[]
- While none of the in-game Tanit Tribe victims were children (aside Tadhla, who was manipulated by his father and killed by the Traveler), had Jeht explicitly killed at least one child, her Ensemble Dark Horse status would be revoked.
- Jeht having a gold-colored eyes originally depicted in fan-animation short "Shadows in the Sand" submitted in Hoyofair 2023 before Hoyoverse canonize the depiction in her 2024 Valentines Day art.
