Iggy Koopa is one of the seven Koopalings and a major antagonist in the Super Mario franchise.
What Makes Him an Ensemble Dark Horse?[]
- He has a very crazy personality which comes off as charming and/or humorous to many people.
- His fights are often the most interesting the game has to offer, such as riding a Chain Chomp in New Super Mario Bros. Wii and New Super Mario Bros. 2 and summoning Magmaarghs in New Super Mario Bros. U. As such, he is often considered to be the best boss fight in the aforementioned games.
- Due to originally looking similar to him and his portrayal as his twin brother in the Mario cartoons, he is often shown to hang out with Lemmy in fanworks, to the point where the two were made into a trio alongside Morton in Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam.
- He is also very funny, as he slaps his rear end with his wand to taunt Mario and in Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam, after Lemmy did a crazy stunt with a giant ball, Iggy followed up on it with a stunt of his own; trying to kill Mario, Luigi and Paper Mario with a Chain Chomp, only to get attacked by the latter as he didn't get out of the way in time.
- His appearance in Smash was left with many praising it.
