IDLE are a group of children who live on Desolatt Island and made their debut in Mario & Luigi: Brothership. Their group name is an abbreviation of the first letters in their names; Ireen, Dulles, Loog, and Ellow. Princess Peach and Starlow would also become temporary members during their expedition in Concordia to help restore the broken continent.
What Makes Them Ensemble Dark Horses?[]
- Fans have grown attached to IDLE, primarily for their team dynamic and surprising bravery in the face of danger.
- They are well known for coming up with a lot of creative plans to handle difficult situations, and they are often humorous. One notable case was when IDLE volunteered to steer a rocket created by Technikki, meant to destroy the barrier blocking the Color-Full Sea, Great Lighthouse, not because someone ask if they can handle it, but they were told that it may possibly kill them, along with the fact that they are still kids, and when the rocket explodes, their faces appear in the sky as if they actually died, even though when Mario and Luigi arrive, they were alive but dazed from the impact.
- They were especially eager to help Mario and Luigi save Concordia; if Technikki's plan for an upgrade to get to Fortress Zokket is chosen, they assist in operating the machine and later uses it after Reclusa awakens, and if Adaphne's plan is chosen, they, Technikki, Peach, Starlow, and Dorrie will be the one to rescue the Bros and Cozette.
- Their character designs are described as unique and adorable, which especially applies to Ireen.
