Hermann Fegelein was a supporting character in the 2004 German film, Der Untergang (The Downfall), about the final days of Hitler's life.
What Makes Him an Ensemble Dark Horse?[]
- The audience sympathizes with Fegelein's plea to leave Berlin due to going through some heavy historical villain downgrading and instead being portrayed as a young man who doesn't want to die.
- Fegelein's increased warnings that Hitler and Eva should leave Berlin and his defiance of Hitler's orders that every person should defend Berlin until the last man has made him popular among Downfall parodists.
- Because Downfall is entirely in German, whenever a Downfall parody centers around Fegelein, the main focus is how much of an antics master he is and how he loves to troll Hitler with his antics.
- Even though he dies both in the movie and in real life, parodist keep him back to life to the point where he's invincible.
