Golden Retriever Girl, more well-known as Jessica by fans, is a background character from Lacey Games who appears on the episode lacey’s petshop. She is a sweet dog-lover girl how takes her dog to Lacey’s shop so she could clean them.
What Makes Her an Ensemble Dark Horse?[]
- She is a background character that only appear in one episode for 23 seconds, but has received a nice amount of attention by fans.
- Her design is adorable, especially for Lacey Games’ background characters standards. In fact, she almost looks like one of the main characters.
- Her only line implied that she has a sweet and cheerful personality, being overall likeable.
- Fans appreciate how she was the only Lacey customer in the episode that wasn’t selfish nor abusive towards her pet. Most of the customer asked Lacey to modify their pets by coloring them, giving them accessories or even deforming them to suit their tastes (which isn’t surprising considering the series' nature). In contrast, she only asked Lacey to clean her dog and cut their hair, never asked any unnecessary addition and genuinely care for them.
- Before Jay and Maisie where introduced, she was apparently the only character who was nice to Lacey, with her uncle brutally abusing her, the stalker eating her and most of the customer either being impatient or speaking badly to her. She even was the only who said “please”.
- Because of this, many people have shipped her with Lacey, or add her to Lacey, Jay and Maisie group of friends.
