Furnace is a minor antagonist of the now cancelled Friday Night Funkin' mod "Vs. Sonic.Exe", serving as the secondary antagonist of the song "Prey". A robot built in order to cook and serve animals to a crazed version of Dr. Robotnik, Furnace was sent out to attack Sonic in order to add to his master's conquest.
His chromatic scale was provided by Churgney Gurgney, and his speaking lines were done by Madzilla.
What Makes Him an Ensemble Dark Horse?[]
- In general, his appearance as a burning variant of Metal/Mecha Sonic has been praised for its menacing yet cool design.
- His voicelines, provided by Madzilla, also suit his character, portraying him as a coldblooded machine with a one-track mind.
- Is able to falsely deactivate himself and still leave enough room to somehow outspeed Sonic, and was able to successfully kill his variant of the Blue Blur, something that nearly every villain, both canon and otherwise, have failed to achieve.
- Despite his relatively low screentime in the mod's final build, just being a servant of Starved and not even having an entire song to himself, Furnace is still praised just as much as the more developed crew for having one of the best songs in the mod and for being a scarily effective antagonist.
- Due to his popularity, he has been subject to various memes and fanmade mods after Vs. Sonic.Exe's cancellation, some even without Starved at all.
