The Forever Train Engineer is one of the antagonists of the Star Fox franchise. He is the boss who can be fought in the Macbeth stage and his job is to transport cargo.
What Makes Him an Ensemble Dark Horse?[]
The Forever Train Engineer is really popular for his memorable quotes that he uses during battle, that has been often recited by fans multiple times. He is also known for having the most lines out of all the bosses in the game.
What also makes him popular is that, unlike any of the other bosses who show themselves at the end of the stage, the engineer makes himself known seconds after the level starts and he is shown to put up a fight against the Star Fox team before his actual fight begins.
How he is defeated determines which route the player takes, destroying the boss, Mechbeth leads to Bolse, but if the player chooses to take Peppy's advice to shoot all eight switches, with Falco and Katt's help, and shoots the main switch, the battle ends with him going so fast that he couldn't stop his train and he ends up crashing into the fuel bunker, causing a massive explosion, bringing on one of the most famous defeats in the game.
