Nominations for articles to be featured on the front page.

Guidelines

  • Nominations must be at the very least 150 words long.
  • Users must be logged in to vote.
  • An article is featured every month, or at the admins' discretion.
  • Whichever article has the most votes at the end of the month is featured for a month.
    • Each downvote counts as a point down for the nominee.
    • In case of a tie, the one with fewer downvotes wins.
  • Admin votes carry the same weight as regular users' votes.
  • Leave a link to your username when voting. It is recommended but not required nominations and votes are signed with four tildes (~~~~) so your username and time of voting automatically appears.
  • Nominations and votes CANNOT BE CHANGED. Each user can only vote ONCE, for and against.
  • An article cannot be nominated twice in a row (if an article was nominated in the previous voting, it cannot be nominated again in the current one).
  • CHEATING WILL NEVER BE TOLERATED. Any user who starts downvoting candidates just to rig the results or go asking other users to vote on his candidate will receive a warning and, in case of reincidence, a two-week ban. No exceptions.
  • The use of sockpuppets in EDHFH is extremely forbidden, resulting in the permanent ban of the sockpuppet's account(s) and in the deletion of your nominated candidate.
  • Once the vote was posted, there is no turning back to edit the description of your vote. If you voted against a candidate for a trivial reason and had your vote discarded by an admin, it will be forbidden to go back and edit the reason of your vote to make your denied vote valid again. Doing so will result in a week ban, NO exceptions.
  • Only nominate an EDH that has a page on the wiki at the time you nominated them. If you try to nominate a character that you plan to make a page for, it will be removed.
  • In the event of a tiebreaker at the end of the month, if there is a single or multiple downvote for a candidate, then the candidate who receives the downvote(s) will not be headlined.
  • In the event of a tiebreaker at the end of the month with no downvotes, there will be an extended voting period up to two days to break the tiebreaker.

Suggestions

  • Nominate a character for any reason, as long as it is relevant to their status on this Wiki.
  • Don't vote against a candidate if you haven't read the article about it yet.
  • Don't vote against a candidate just because you know nothing about them.
  • Don't say anything that may be offensive to another.
  • If you're going to vote against, present an actual argument for your reasoning. "They're boring" or "I don't like them" aren't arguments.

The correct nomination format is as follows:

For:
Against:
  • (if anyone votes against:) against reasons for against

  • Consider this as my way of honoring the first black character in the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure franchise, Even preceeding the likes of Muhammad Avdol. (Black is my favorite color!)

James Doakes

  • Given that Dexter: Resurrection has recently begun airing, I figured it would be a good idea to nominate a fan-favourite character as a way of honouring the franchise, with said nominee being none-other than the "Bay Harbor Butcher" himself, Sgt. James "Surprise, Motherf*cker!" Doakes.
