Valtus, the Redemptor Dreadnought is a supporting character of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II. During the assault, he proves to be quite useful in his efforts to stop the Thousand Sons.
What Makes Him an Ensemble Dark Horse?[]
- In General, Dreadnoughts are not only walking engines that would devastate enemies in the battlefield, but also a mechanical sarcophagus with arsenal provided for Space Marine veterans in life support after being wounded in battle. With the Dreadnoughts, the Space Marine units in life support will have a chance to fight For the Emperor and get a wish for honorable warriors' death.
- According to his bio, Brother Valtus was a veteran in Plague Wars in service to 2nd company, fighting the Chaos Forces of Nurgle alongside brother Decimus before being fatally wounded and interred as a Redemptor Dreadnought.
- He is first seen after the first mission after prologue when the Techpriests are working on his chassis.
- As soon as he appeared in the final chapter, he quickly became a fan favorite due to his actions and his blood knight attitude.
- In Operations mode, he would shoot a chaos sorcerer with his gatling gun.
- The Redemptor Dreadnought has a pretty cool and badass design, which gives it an aura of intimidation to anyone who crosses its path. The said Dreadnought is based on a standard model in Games Workshop.
- Valtus has proven to be quite badass in combat.
- His first appearance is literally him killing a hellbrute pretty easily and then asking his Ultramarines brothers to lead him against the Thousand Sons something that is already to be respected.
- After that impressive introduction, he proceeds to lay waste to the forces of chaos, massacring the enemies that cross his path.
- He throws a statue (possibly of the emperor) at a helldrake, which knocks it down.
- He has several iconic lines during his time on screen.
- He is so badass and brave that he is even willing to face Magnus the Red, the Primarch of the Thousand Sons, and when he can't, he takes out his anger against the enemy.
- In general, Valtus is a character who, despite having little time on screen, quickly gained the favoritism of WH 40k fans.
