Dennis the Hitman (or just simply Dennis) is the secondary antagonist of The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie.

He is a sadistic, homicidal and ruthless bounty hunter working for Plankton, tasked with stopping and killing SpongeBob and Patrick in their journey to retrieve King Neptune's crown.

He was voiced by Alec Baldwin, who also voiced BoCo in Season 5 of Thomas & Friends.

What Makes Him an Ensemble Dark Horse?[]

Dennis made himself a name as one of the most memorable villains in the franchise despite having only appeared in one film. He didn't officially appear in the TV show until well over a decade after his introduction in response to his popularity.
He is a bonafide badass henchman with a lot of Evil is Cool moments going for him, seen in the way he tracked SpongeBob and Patrick with extreme accuracy through small clues or when he sent Victor flying with a punch, sinking the Thug Tug in the process.
He has an awesome stylish design fitting for a bounty hunter akin to Boba Fett, with his cowboy hat, biker attire and sunglasses coupled with his motorcycle providing one of the coolest-looking characters in the whole franchise.
He had an aura of mystery and intimidation throughout the film, staying silent through the first half of its runtime and turning into a terrifying threat to SpongeBob after his villainous breakdown.
Alec Baldwin's voice performance was just right for the character, also playing into SpongeBob's tradition of casting celebrities in guest roles. He is not heard talking until he finally encounters SpongeBob but from there on, he delivers some of the coldest lines in the film.
As well as his threatening presence, even he has his share of comedic moments, such as admitting that he said too much after revealing to SpongeBob and Patrick that he was hired by Plankton to step on them and why.
