Denki Kaminari (Hero name: Stun Gun Hero: Chargebolt) is a supporting character in the anime My Hero Academia. He is a student in class 1-A and his quirk is called "Electrification".
In the original Japanese version, he is voiced by Tasuku Hatanaka. In the English dub, he is voiced by Kyle Philips.
What Makes Him An Ensemble Dark Horse?[]
- Fans like him for having a character design that is pleasant to look at. In fact, his design suits his electric related quirk well with the spiky hair and bolt-like lock of hair.
- As a comic relief, fans have found him to be a comedic character. Also, the scene in the 3rd season where he says that he can't wait to become a heroic chicken was well-liked by fans.
- Due to his electrification quirk, fans have compared him to Pikachu.
- He rarely gets a focus in the series, with him only being a background/filler character with minimal screentime. While he does appear in if not, every season, he is still far from being a main character.
- His reception was ironic. Due to him being a stupid idiot who is also partners in crime with the notorious Minoru Mineta, you would expect him to receive a negative reception. However, he ended up being well-liked by fans instead.
- Unlike Mineta, Kaminari respects girls' privacy, albeit still being a pervert.
