Colgera is a major antagonist and major boss in the 2023 acton-adventure game The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and would possibly appear in the upcoming game Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment.
It is a giant worm-like centipede monster that wields power over ice and snow to create blizzards big enough to affect a whole region and is responsible for the extreme cold snap that haunts the Rito Village and is the guardian of the Wind Temple to prevent Tulin from awakening as the Sage of Wind.
What makes it an Ensemble Dark Horse?[]
- First of all, while it is a generic doomsday villain with obviously no personality traits and is the first main quest boss of the game, it quickly became very popular among fans at release.
- It has a very awesome design, being a flying gigantic, centipede-like monster with ice as it's flesh.
- The boss fight is one of the most creative aspects of the game, as despite being the first and easiest boss, it takes place in the air and the player having multiple ways of being able to defeat it, either by shooting it with arrows or diving straight through it, unlike other bosses in the game which have one set of ways of defeating them.
- The theme that plays during its boss fight is, without a doubt, one of the best themes in the game as it uses parts of the Dragon Roost Island theme, which is also the Rito Village theme, making it quite a nostalgic fight.
- Although not as popular as other characters like Master Kohga or Rauru, it still is popular enough to stand out due to it's aforementioned boss fight and nostalgic theme.
Trivia[]
- While is currently a EDH, it's status could likely change in the upcoming Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment game coming out in December 2025.
