Chloé Bourgeois is a supporting character of Ladybug & Cat Noir: The Movie, the cinematografic adaption of the animated series Miraculous: Tales Of Ladybug & Cat Noir. She is a student at Collège Françoise Dupont and the rival of Marinette Dupain-Cheng.
She is voiced by Marie Chevalot in the original French version and by Selah Victor in the English version.
What Makes Her a Ensemble Dark Horse?[]
- Fans consider her a huge upgrade from her original version, being an obstacle in Marinette's civilian life clearly made to be unpleasant, but with fun moments and not being used as a villain directly.
- Her design is very beautiful, mainly thanks to the bigger budget animation, with many saying she is the most beautiful character in the film.
- She has a lot of funny moments, like wanting to hit Marinette for (accidentally) ruining her sweater, but being forced not to because Alya was recording, her panics during the battle in the park or her being thrown into a dumpster.
- People like that her relationship with Sabrina seems to simply be a realistic toxic friendship, rather than a forced master-subordinate relationship like in the original series.
- Fans also liked that she still has human traits, such as helping Sabrina get up after the final battle and leaving Marinette alone during the Spring Formal, showing respect for her.
- With Thomas Astruc not working on the film franchise, Chloé fans are very hopeful that she will become Queen Bee and finally receive a redemption arc, seeing a lot of potential in this more human version of the character.
- Even though she doesn't have a great relevance in the plot and only serves as an obstacle in Marinette's civilian life, this Chloé gained the public's attention for bringing everything that fans liked about the original character and improving it, with many wanting to see more of her in the sequels.
