Charlie Collins was a minor character of the children's television series called Batman: The Animated Series. He was the main character of the episode Joker's Favor.
What Makes Him an Ensemble Dark Horse?[]
- Despite only appearing one episode, he proved to be memorable:
- Charlie had his own theme song.
- Charlie had his own character development.
- Charlie was clever by using a make shift Bat-Signal, which Bruce, who happened to be nearby, managed to get the message to stopping the bomb that could kill all the Gotham Police especially Commissioner Gordon during the award ceremony as he knew that Joker would never honor the deal of sparing him and his family after doing him a favor.
- It was notable that Batman was sympathetic towards Charlie, after learning why the latter had to work with the Joker especially with his family were being threaten.
- He went from a timid normal guy, who got his encounter with the Joker, to being a clever fearless hero that outsmarted the Joker, by threatening him with a bomb.
- It also made the Joker scared that he finally choose to leave Charlie and his family alone by giving all of Charlie's information to Batman.
- Despite Joker honoring the promise, Charlie still throws the bomb toward him and that made the latter scared. However, it was revealed to be a dud, which made Batman laugh genuinely.
- After dealing with the Joker, Charlie is finally free and can appreciate his normal life.
