Ascended

Sometimes, a minor character may be so popular with audiences that they get promoted up a peg much later in the series or franchise.

NOTE: Be cautious about adding ascended extras onto the wiki, as some instances become so engrained into the franchise, they lose the ensemble dark horse status entirely due to overexposure, often times leading to them being base-breaking. In other instances, characters can be promoted to the point they change the direction or production of the franchise. This category is meant for exceptions to the rule rather than former EDHs who were promoted.
