The Blue Dog is a minor character in The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. It belongs to Mamamu Yan and is one of the dog racers of the Doggy Race track.

What Makes It an Ensemble Dark Horse

• The Blue Dog, even though it is far from being relevant to the main plot of Majora's Mask with its only role being a racer in the Doggy Racetrack with all the other dogs, has begun to rise to popularity thanks to the fact that it never won a single race in any of the playthroughs, with it having the lowest stats being 4.0 while the other colored dogs have higher stats.
• Thanks to its underdog status being unable to win a single victory for about 25 years since the Majora's Mask released, the Blue Dog gained an interesting story arc as explained in Vidya James's video as he explains a very rare glitch that involves a thin invisible fake finish line that causes the victory jingle to occur in the middle of the race with the music being silent for the rest of the run with the Blue Dog having an extremely rare chance of landing on it to achieve a glitch victory, even if it is fated to lose. Vidya James also explained how a fellow YouTuber named falkush went to great lengths in using speedrunning tools and changing the dog's stats to ensure the Blue Dog has a chance at reaching a higher rank to achieve a legitimate victory for the Blue Dog and after he was able to gain some second place spots for it, even fans who were skeptical about the Blue Dog's chances started to believe that the Blue Dog might have a chance at actually achieving first place. It took falkush a whopping 30,000 tries total to give the Blue Dog a legit satisfying win as shown in his video. Fans were estatic and proud of the Blue Dog for making it this far and were grateful to falkush for making it all possible.
  • There was even a video where the Blue Dog got first place while the Gold Dog got last place with 116,232 simulations.
• Since its glitch and legit first place victories, fans have grown to love and respect the Blue Dog even more that they have headcanon its story of it being looked down upon by the other dogs for being slow and not ever winning, but the Blue Dog even with its self-doubts, continues to race and went up a rank until it achieved its goal of getting first place which earned the other dogs' respect for its perseverance.
• Fans saw the Blue Dog's first ever victory as an inspirational lesson of never giving up, even if it takes several years to a lifetime to achieve and it became so popular that a music video was created in honor of its dedication to continue racing, even with the odds are against it.
