Melvin Harris, also known as Big Smoke, is the secondary antagonist of the 2004 video game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, the seventh installment of the Grand Theft Auto franchise.
He is one of CJ's closest friends and member of the groves street families, but as the story progresses, it is revealed that in reality, he had secretly allied himself with CRASH head Frank Tenpenny and the Ballas.
He was voiced by Clifton Powell.

- He is one of the most iconic characters in the franchise, being quite recognized, even for those who have a little knowledge of GTA.
- His entrance is also quite iconic, appearing from the kitchen of CJ's house with a bat saying one of his famous phrases.
- His phrases: "YOU PICKED THE WRONG HOUSE, FOOL" and "ALL WE HAD TO DO WAS FOLLOW THE DAMM TRAIN CJ" have become great memes, both in the English and Hispanic communities leading to the creation of several videos of these phrases.
- Before his reveal, he had several funny moments, such as when he plays basketball with Sweet or orders his food (which is also another iconic moment) and then refuses to shoot to the ballas until he finishes eating (although it may be a foreshadowing of his later betrayal, the moment is still funny).
- When it was revealed that he worked with CRASH and the Ballas, many people truly felt betrayed by what they saw.
- Big Smoke also serves as a dark reflection of CJ of his ambitions and goals if he had made wrong choices. Big Smoke's alliance with Frank Tenpenny only creates the former's tragic downfall into a pathetic shell of a former self. 
- He was also the subject of theories and urban legends, as some claimed to have seen his ghost in his palace, or that he actually managed to survive his encounter with CJ.
- Even if he is dead and 20 years have passed since the game came out, many people still remember him as one of the best characters and villains in video games, appearing in memes, videos, YTP, among others. Then it could be said that his last words: "When I'm gone, everyone will remember my name... Big Smoke!" They are actually quite true.
