Barricade is a major antagonist in the Transformers film series. He is a high-ranking member of the Decepticons who ironically transforms into a police car. He is the archenemy of Autobot scout Bumblebee.
He was voiced by Jess Harnell in Transformers and Transformers: The Last Knight, and by Frank Welker in Transformers: Dark of the Moon. In Transformers: The Game, he was voiced by Keith David.
What Makes Him an Ensemble Dark Horse?[]
- Like Blackout, Barricade is often remembered as one of the best Decepticons in the saga due to his design and memorable scenes.
- People think the idea of a Decepticon disguising himself as a police car is very cool and even unique.
- Additionally, Barricade's Police Car Alt-Mode has a dark parody of the Standard Police Motto, which titled "To Punish and Enslave", in the first installment. While returning in The Last Knight, the words, "Protect" and "Serve" are engraved at his brass knuckles instead.
- His designs are highly praised, especially the one in the first film. Even his design in The Last Knight is praised, despite how hated that film is.
- Jess Harnel was highly praised for his voice acting as the character, helping to give him an intimidating air. Keith David also had his performance in the video game praised, with some saying they wanted to see him voice the character in the film.
- The scene where he interrogates Sam is very memorable, not only because of how intimidating he looks, but also because his first line: "Are you username: Ladiesman217?" ended up becoming unintentionally funny and meme material.
- His fight with Bumblebee is nice, even that short, with a lot of fans saying that wanted to see more of him and his rivality with Bee.
