Why Do People Love The Character?

He is a great original human character and addition to the franchise who fills the role of Eggman's sidekick perfectly and displays good chemistry with him, mostly because of Lee Majdoub's performance.

Agent Stone is the secondary antagonist of the Sonic Cinematic Universe. He is Dr. Robotnik's right-hand man.

He is played by Lee Majdoub.

What Makes Him an Ensemble Dark Horse?[]

Stone doesn't play that large a role in the narrative and yet he quickly became a fan favorite character thanks to his charming personality and quirks coupled with his great on-screen chemistry with Robotnik, providing a valuable comic relief as the gleeful assistant to Robotnik's mad genius scientist.
Lee Majdoub stated that his character was originally just there so Robotnik would have someone to talk to and bounce ideas off with, adding to his dark horse status. It was through his natural likeability and good interactions with Jim Carrey that the character evolved into something greater.
Despite his comedic status, he is actually a pretty reliable guy and proves to be a good henchman to Robotnik despite some of his shortcomings.
The tie-in comic for the second film, titled The Pre-Quill, features individual stories set between the events of the first and second film with Stone playing a large role in them. We are shown how he followed Robotnik's teachings and instructions while he was gone, acting as a highly competent villain on his own.
He has a badass scene in the third film fighting Badniks controlled by Gerald Robotnik.
Despite being a movie exclusive character, Stone has become wildly popular among fans of the whole franchise who already hail him as Eggman's best sidekick across all media, even above older characters like Snively or mainstream characters like Orbot and Cubot or Dr. Starline.
